Candlelight Christmas

Christmas carols lit up the atmosphere as Kuala Lumpur Performing Art Center (KLPac) celebrated the close of the season with a music extravaganza featuring 60 musicians under the baton of Music Director and Resident Conductor, Brian Tan.

The event opened with the orchestra and continued to present yuletide songs such as Silent Night, Hark the Herald, Away in a Manger, O Holy Night, Oh Come All Ye Faithful, Nutcracker Suite, Let it Snow and many more.

The concert which was the first ever to be held began on the 17th December was packed with classic and trendy Christmas tunes. The choir with its strong 60 singers led by Choral Director Susanna Saw was amazing.

According to one of the choir members, Angelina Cheah “It was a beautiful evening and for the first time in my life, I felt and understood the true meaning of Christmas through music. I didn’t want the concert to end”.

Being part of the choir was also a splendid experience. “The rehearsals since October were intense and tedious but the outcome was very satisfying and enjoyable” she added.

The Executive Producer for the Candlelight Christmas was Datuk Faridah Merican while Joe Hasham was Artistic Director. Tickets sold for the show went for a range of RM25 to RM120 in order to enable funds for the participants.
