Clear skies were the best kind of weather to take the sport to a whole new level. Yelling from young fans of the skating and BMX competition filled the arena as various riders worked tirelessly and dangerously to produce different unique stunts.
The two day competition staged at the Putrajaya Extreme Park on 18 and 19 December 2010 saw more and more youths in Asia beginning to show interest in the sport and stars slowly emerging for this western sports.
The BMX competition entailed riding various bikes up and down the slopes to get enough speed and hitting a ramp immediately, which in turn tossed the rider up in the air creating a small opening for a spectacular act.
For the skateboarders, they also had to gather speed and glide their skateboards over handrails to produce amazing aerobatics. Photographers were having a field day with the participant’s performances with really nice shots.
This in turn thrilled and entertained the guests as they observed the amateurs and expert Skateboarders (Abdul Mohammed, Fariz Hamid, Razak Ahmad) exhibit their skills with daredevil aerobatics and spine tingling moves.
According to Abdul Mohammed one of the participants for the contest, “Skating is something I have always enjoyed from my childhood though it is not an easy task. It takes constant rehearsals and courage to be able to keep up with it till you get to the top.
He added that “there are no limits to sports and I am honored to be one of the participants in this competition”.
The extreme games competition is an admired contest in extreme games, particularly in the city of Kuala Lumpur. As a result, the park was built explicitly for this purpose seeing how skating and cycling have become a big deal in the city.
The rivalry continued till about 6 pm with the intense sports, continuous background music to excite the guests spiked with the witty commentators to mark the dynamism of the show.
In certainty, this competition gives the young aspiring skaters and bikers the inspiration and aptitude to envision their future in these sporting areas.
