Online games booth in Flea Market

The Flea Market was open for clubs and associations of UCSI University, as well as vendors from outside to set up their booths in the Block A lobby. There were several booths selling women clothes, jewelry, shoes, cosmetics, nail polish service and Laurent Bleu beauty products.

There were also booths for the PC Fair that sold affordable gadgets, accessories and online games.

The 1Carnival, was held outside the lobby area. Here the booths were set up for the sale of food, drinks and games, being the main attraction. All booths in 1Carnival were handled by students from different clubs and associations. One of the games was throwing an orange or banana to symbolize the Chap Goh Mei festival but unfortunately students didn’t seem interested.

As compared to the vendors of the Flea Market, the vendors of 1Carnival seemed to try very hard to promote their wares. Some food vendors sold their food by walking around the lobby area while some shouted loudly to grab attention from potential buyers. The ambience was just like a wet market!

Student playing game

There was also a lucky draw session every 2 hours, which was timed at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. Students who had purchased coupons waited excitedly for the announcement of the lucky draws, hoping that their number would be called. The grand prize for the lucky draw was a CSL cell phone and a hamper.

Fiesta Numero Uno was success in attracting a big crowd of students and the public. It is hoped that more events such as this will be held to bring the university and the community as one.
